Chithra Pournami - 63 Nayanmargal Pooja 2026 We invite you to the next temple pooja on Saturday, 2nd May 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Chithra Pournami, the full moon day of the Chithirai month. A full moon brings an abundance of positive energy and higher consciousness. Every full moon has its own unique significance, particularly Chithra Pournami, when the sun and moon, the prime celestial bodies and the father and mother of the universe, are both at an exalted and favourable position in the sky. On this glorious night, we will be honouring Chitragupta Nayanar, the deity appointed by Lord Shiva to record the deeds of beings, and our 63 Nayanmargal, the Saivite saints known for their deep devotion to Lord Shiva. There will be a special abishegam and rituals pertaining to the festival, followed by the recital of Thiruthondar Thogai - an ode to the Nayanmars, bowing down to each one of them.
